As we drove to Banff I honestly felt bad for the thousands of tourists piling up to be squished in the tiny, yet beautiful town. We have the pleasure of visiting whenever we want so going Canada Day long weekend was a poor choice on our part, the highway was bumper to bumper which I have never experienced before. One of my main motivators to go to Banff is to find an escape in the mountains and that surreal feeling can be lost if you don't get some space to yourself. Enter Cedar and Sage Co.! As soon as we walked in I felt this absolute calm wash over me. The space is absolutely stunning and it was so quiet and calm. It's that ambiance you search for when you want to reconnect with yourself and feel the weight of the world effortlessly slide off of you. Cedar and Sage gifted us with a massage and infrared sauna experience so that we could share their magic with you. This amazing space also offers reflexology, yoga, reiki, and acupuncture. We are always searching for the best places to share with each of you as we know that there are countless options and only so many dollars. All of the services offered here are super beneficial to our overall health for a variety of reasons that you will continue to hear from us going forward but we will touch on a few here.
Massage: Did you know that getting a massage is a great way to release oxytocin? Human touch helps to do this and it is very beneficial for our overall health. Oxytocin is the love hormone that helps us feel loved and connected. With oxytocin flowing our sense of well-being and overall happiness improves! While most of us go for a massage to "relax" or fix our bodies, the added benefit of oxytocin should not be understated. While massages may not be something that some of us can get on the regular, this occasional practice is a really great way to support the body and the mind. You can also use your benefits, something that we strongly suggest as you get way more out of the experience by making it a little more special out in the mountains.
Infrared Sauna: We love the benefits of infrared saunas! They are such a great option to support the body and help it to feel its best. Infrared saunas help the body detoxify, we eliminate toxins through our sweat, and the infrared is very effective in this process. The heat within the sauna also helps the body to relax, and can help lower levels of cortisol, the stress hormone we often have too much of. The heat also promotes circulation within the body, contributing to stimulation of blood flow, and can help to support muscles during recovery periods.
Acupuncture: Acupuncture has been used for a variety of health conditions and the benefits can sometimes seem endless. It has been used for migraines, anxiety, arthritis, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, nausea, etc. If you are struggling to find a solution to a certain ailment, acupuncture may be a great option for you. It can help bring your body back to its equilibrium and contribute to it functioning more effectively. Acupuncture is another great way to relax the body and allow the stress to melt away. It can seem a little intimidating having needles stuck in you but as someone who hates anything like that I was surprised to find it didn't bother me at all.
With all this being said, I can't fully express how wonderful this space is and how great of an escape it is from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. You will just have to go in and see it for yourself!
